Hanes Photography LLC (“Hanes Photography,” “I,” “me,” or “my”) is a wedding and portrait photography business based in Minnesota. This Privacy Policy explains what information I collect through hanesphotography.com and my advertising, how I use it, and the choices you have. By using this website or submitting an inquiry, you agree to the practices described here.

Information you give me. When you fill out the contact form, submit a form on one of my Facebook or Instagram ads, email me, message me on social media, or book a call, I may collect:

Your name
Email address
Phone number
Instagram handle
Wedding or session date, venue, and location
How you heard about my work
Any details you choose to share about your wedding, session, or plans

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, this site and the services that power it may automatically collect limited technical information, such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, time spent on pages, and the site that referred you. This is collected through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies.

Information from advertising platforms. If you respond to one of my ads on Facebook or Instagram, Meta shares with me the information you submit in that ad’s form. Meta may also provide me with general, aggregated information about how my ads perform.

Client information. If you book with me, I collect the additional information needed to provide services, such as billing details, mailing address, event timeline, and names of family members or vendors. Payments are handled by third-party payment processors; I do not store full card numbers.

3. How I use your information

I use the information I collect to:

Respond to inquiries and check availability for your date
Send pricing, guides, and other information you requested
Schedule calls, meetings, and sessions
Prepare contracts and invoices and provide photography services
Deliver galleries, prints, and other products
Follow up on an inquiry or send occasional updates about my services
Understand how visitors use the site and improve it
Measure and improve my advertising
Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations

4. Cookies, pixels, and advertising

This website may use cookies and similar technologies, including tools from Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Pinterest, to understand site traffic, measure ad performance, and show my ads to people who have visited the site or to similar audiences. I share personal information only as needed to run my business, including with:

Associate or second photographers, and vendors involved in your event, when needed to provide services to you

If the business is ever sold or reorganized, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Photographs and media

Ownership. All photographs, video, graphics, text, and other content on this website are the property of Hanes Photography LLC and are protected by copyright law, unless otherwise noted. Nothing on this site may be copied, downloaded, reproduced, edited, redistributed, or used for commercial purposes or to train artificial intelligence systems without my prior written permission.

Client images. Images of clients appear on this website, on social media, and in advertising with permission. How I may use the images I create for a client, and how the client may use them, is governed by the specific terms of that client’s signed contract, including any model release, usage license, and privacy or limited-use requests. Where a client contract and this policy differ, the contract controls.

Requests about an image. If you appear in an image on this site or my social media and would like to ask about its use or request its removal, email ethan@hanesphotography.com and I will respond promptly.

7. How long I keep information

I keep inquiry information for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and client information for as long as needed to provide services, deliver and archive galleries, and meet legal, tax, and contractual obligations. When information is no longer needed, I delete it or make it anonymous.

8. How I protect information

I use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including reputable third-party providers and password-protected accounts, to protect your information. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, so I cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your choices and rights

You may ask me at any time to:

Tell you what personal information I hold about you
Correct or update it
Delete it, subject to legal and contractual record-keeping requirements
Stop sending you marketing messages

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or international privacy laws, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising. To make any request, email ethan@hanesphotography.com. I will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email or by replying and asking to be removed.

10. Third-party links

This site links to other websites and platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest. I am not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and I encourage you to review their policies.

11. Children’s privacy

This website is intended for adults. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this site. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact me and I will delete it.

12. Visitors outside the United States

Hanes Photography LLC operates in the United States. If you contact me from another country, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

13. Changes to this policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
